Currently working at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto as an Intensivist. Starting at Bara in 1987 as an intern and continued as a registrar in Anaesthesia. Qualified as a specialist Anaesthesiologist in 1997 and went on to do a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine, qualifying as an Intensivist in 1999. Currently Deputy Director of the General ICU at CHBAH and is an examiner for the critical care exam.

At Bara she looks after some of the feral cat colonies and has caught, sterilized, vaccinated and released over 30 cats. She has also homed numerous ‘Bara’ kittens and has a number of ex-Bara cats at home. Living peacefully with the cats are her two Labradors, Emmi and Bonnie.

Became interested in dog training in 2010 with the arrival of Emmi, who started training a little late at 6 months and so did the adults no training course. She went on to do obedience training and has obtained her KUSA CGC Bronze certificate and her WODAC Silver and gold. Her interest in puppy training started with the arrival of Bonnie in 2013 and has helped with the puppy classes since then. Bonnie has also gone on to do obedience training and has obtained her KUSA CGC Bronze to WODAC silver.  Both dogs take part in ‘agility’ as a fun activity. Started studying for the Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour management with Compass in the UK .
